This new 30' x 70' exercise pen built between October 2005 and March 2006, enables Wild ARC to care for injured and orphaned birds of prey and other large bird species up until the point of release. So far eagles, osprey, owls, hawks, herons, turkey vultures and even ravens and gulls have already been flight tested and exercised in the enclosure before release. In the past, these birds would be transferred to other facilities over 3 hours away for such care and rarely returned for local release.
